Rojaiye Balogun, 65, has been detained by the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State for reportedly rapping his 17-year-old daughter.
The suspect was apprehended on Wednesday in Imomo-Ijebu, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area of Ogun, according to the state’s NSCDC Commandant, Kolawole Taiwo.
According to Taiwo, the case was reported to the command’s Anti-Human Trafficking, Irregular Migration Unit by a victim’s relative.
The sexagenarian confessed to having unlawful carnal knowledge of his daughter, “saying it was the devil’s work,” according to the Commandant.
While berating the rising incidences of incest in society, he insisted that the subject will be probed.
Balogun, meantime, has denied being the victim’s biological father, claiming that he slept with her once when her mother was away.
The victim, on the other hand, claimed that the suspect is his biological father and that he raped her four times.
She alleged that her father once promised to give her N1,000 if she would allow him to sleep with her, ” and I refused, but he forced himself on me,”
The teen said that her mother had refused to believe her when the situation was brought to her attention multiple times, and that an uncle had taken her to the NSCDC office to report the crime.
