Man Allegedly Abuses Pregnant Wife in Delta, Police Weigh In
Delta State activist, Harrison Gwamnishu, has raised alarm over a reported abuse of a pregnant woman by her husband. On his X page on Friday, offered to help the poor woman seek the help that she requires.
Gwamnishu wrote, “Att: #Brightgoldenboy I received this message and I wish you help intervene as it’s happening in Warri, Delta State. “Good morning Sir, I’m 7 months pregnant and I have been suffering all kinds of abuse by my husband, beats me , locks me out of the house most times, forcefully collects my savings and torture me . “As am talking to u right now he locked me up in the house went away with the keys without food or water to drink.
“This one is happening in Warri. We will investigate and update shortly. LOCATION: Okukooko by Nehemiah school Warri.”In response to the tweet, Delta police PRO Bright Edafe wrote, “Direct her to the nearest Police station and also advise her that marriage is not by force. She can get out while she is still alive.”
