Latest: Kanu Speaks Over Igbo Elders appeal To Buhari
Prince Emmanuel Kanu, Nnamdi Kanu’s younger brother and the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has spoken out about Igbo leaders visiting President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday.
In a statement released shortly after the meeting, Kanu urged President Buhari to pay attention to the Igbo leaders’ appeals for the release of the older Kanu.
Best News Network had stated that a group led by First Republic legislator and Minister of Aviation, Mbazulike Amaechi, had visited Buhari on Friday and sought the release of IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
As a demonstration of respect for the Igbo nation, Prince Kanu requested that the President consider the proposal of the distinguished Igbo elders.
The unconditional release of Kanu, he argued, is one way to jumpstart the process of national healing.
He expressed the hope that Buhari will pay close attention to the elders’ requests.
