The Rich and the poor makes the population of the world but their are some rich person’s making wave in the world. They are called billionaires.
Each year a team of over 50 reporters are employed by Forbes from different countries to track the activities of the world’s richest individuals and sometimes groups or families who share wealth.
The process is a very tedious one and it requires different aspects. The first thing they do is sending out preliminary survey to those who may qualify for the list.
Three types of responses are received from this people according. Some may try to inflate their wealth, some cooperate but don’t give details while others don’t bother answering the questions.
After preliminary survey, business dealings are looked into, valuable assets like land, house, vehicles, artwork etc are estimated.
Interviews are also conducted to thoroughly check the figures and improve the estimate of an individual’s possession.
The annual ranking 2021 is the 35th annual Forbes list of the world’s billionaires. This list included 2,755 billionaires with a total net worth of $13.1 trillion.
The top 10 billionaires in the world are arranged from the 10th to the 1st position. They are;
Mukesh Ambani, an India billionaire aged 64, his the Chairman, managing director and largest shareholder of Reliance industries. He is the 10th richest man in the world with a net worth is of $84.5 billion. In 2011 he was ranked number 9 on the list alongside his fellow Indian Lakshmi Mittal, who was ranked number 6. Since then none of them appeared on the top 10 till this year.
Sergey Brin from United States, aged 47 is a business magnate, computer scientist and internet entrepreneur. He is also a co – founder of Google. He is ranked number 9 with a net worth of $89 billion. This is his first time of appearing in the top 10 ranking.
Larry Page, 48, from United States is a business magnate, computer scientist, an internet entrepreneur and a co – founder of Google. He is ranked 8th with $91.5 billion net worth. In 2019 he was ranked 9th with $55.5 billion net worth.
Larry Ellison, 76, from United States is the Co – Founder, Executive Chairman, Chief Technology Officer and Former CE of Oracle Corporation. He is ranked the 7th richest man in the world with a net worth of $93 billion. He was ranked number 5 last year and has been on the top 10 ranking for many years but was excluded in 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008.
Warren Buffet, 90, from United States is the CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. He is ranked 6th in world with a net worth of $96 billion. Last year he was ranked 4th and has been on the top 10 ranking for years.
Mark Zuckerberg,36, from United States is the Founder of Facebook Incorporated. He is ranked 5th with a net worth of $97 billion, he was ranked 7th last year. Zuckerberg joined the ranking list in 2008, four years after starting his company at age 23, he became the youngest top 10 billionaires in 2016 at age 31.
Bill Gates, 65, from United States is the Co-Founder of Microsoft. He’s ranked 4th with a net worth of $124 billion, he has been in the first and second position for many years in a role.
Bernard Arnault, 72, from France is the Chief executive Louis Vuitton, Moet and Hennessy. He’s ranked 3rd with a net worth of $150 billion. He has been on the top ranking for years.
Elon Musk, 49, from United States is the Founder, CEO and Chief Engineer of Space X, he is also the CEO and product Architect of Tesla inc. He is ranked 2nd richest man in the world with a net worth of $151 billion. This is his first time of being in the top 10 ranking.
The richest man in the world with a net worth of $177 billion is Jeff Bezos aged 57 from United States. He is the Founder and CEO of Amazon. He has been maintaining this position since 2018. In 2017, he was ranked 3rd and 5th in in 2016 when he was was listed in the top 10.
