Kano: Gov Yusuf Reveals Next Plan Following Appeal Court Defeat

The Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, has declared his intention to challenge the recent ruling by the Court of Appeal at the Supreme Court, with the aim of reclaiming his mandate. This decision comes after the Court of Appeal in Abuja sacked Governor Yusuf and declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, as the winner of the March 18 election.

“I have instructed my legal team to challenge the Appeal Court ruling at the Supreme Court,” stated Governor Abba Yusuf in a broadcast on Friday.

The National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, expressed gratitude for the judiciary’s role in delivering justice and considered the ruling a victory for democracy. Ganduje acknowledged the possibility of the case reaching the Supreme Court and expressed readiness for the legal battle.

“There is nothing wrong for them to go to the Supreme Court. We too are ready to meet them in the Supreme Court. And Insha Allah, we will win at the Supreme Court as well,” said Abdullahi Ganduje.

The legal dispute follows allegations of malpractices during the election, with both parties expressing confidence in the judicial process to determine the rightful winner.
