Just In: Tension As DSS Detains Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer

The ongoing trial for the arrested proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, convener, has taken another dimension as
DSS detains Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer.

Recall that, Nnamdi Kanu legal team has always been the target of the Department of State Security Service, on several occasions during his trial they have been denied access to enter the courtroom.

More so, the last trial that was held for Kanu turned to a walkout by the lawyers after all his legal team except the lead counsel, media houses, reporters, and journalists were denied access to the courtroom, and the case was adjourned to January 2022 by Justice Anyako.

The case took another dimension today as DSS detains Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer and interrogates him for hours while visiting his client in their detention.

This was made known via a statement released by Aloy Ejimakor earlier today, where he stated that, Nnamdi Kanu was being tortured emotionally and psychologically at the DSS detention, as he is being subjected to degrading and inhumane treatments even after a court order.

Part of the statement reads “Kanu is being confined solitary in a very small cell with no sunlight for twenty-three hours of the day, and only allowed to see the sun for one hour, and was barred from any social interaction”.

“Fellow detainees that interact with Kanu gets punished for greeting or saluting him, the extreme emotional and mental distress inflicted on him has been affecting his mental health, even his clothing has not been changed since his arrest, different clothing brought to him was rejected and returned, even his glasses (lenses) destroyed by agents of the Nigerian government in Kenya was rejected to be replaced by DSS officers.
