The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) director, Rotimi Oyekanmi, has slammed one of the Presidential candidates, Bola Tinubu over his statement on the validity of PVC.
According to sources, on Tuesday Bola Tinubu was captured telling some women leaders of the All Progressive Congress Party in Abuja that some permanent voters cards have expired.
Following this, the INEC Director slammed Bola Tinubu over his statement on the validity of the Permanent Voters Card.
Rotimi Oyekan regarded the news as fake and also stated that the Permanent Voters Card does not expire, after its acquisition.
He was quoted thus ” Permanent Voters Card does not expire, it remains validated as long as the security chip on it is not damaged, it remains valid. But if the chip is damaged, the holder can apply for a replacement”.
“Nigerians who already have their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) do not need to register again. Double registration is an offense under our laws.
“Eligible Nigerians are entitled to register only once. Once a name appears in the national register of voters, it stays there permanently”.
