Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim was born on April 19, 1980, in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. Raised in Abuja, she attended Aruwa Nursery School and Jabi Primary School for her early education. She then enrolled at the Federal Government Girls College in Bwari, Abuja, where she completed her secondary education. At a young age, Imaan showed great academic potential and went on to graduate from the University of Abuja with a degree in sociology at the age of 19. She further pursued her education and obtained two master’s degrees, an MBA and MA, from Webster University in London.

She began her career at Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) before venturing to the United Kingdom, where she gained valuable experience in human resources and management. She also became a certified SAP HCM consultant, showcasing her expertise in the field.

Imaan’s career took a significant turn when she joined Mary Kay and rose to the position of senior sales director. This experience not only honed her business acumen but also provided her with valuable insights into leadership and strategic planning.

In her commitment to public service, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim served as a special adviser on strategic communication to the Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba. Her role involved providing guidance and support in effectively communicating the ministry’s policies and initiatives.

Imaan’s dedication to economic development led to her appointment as a member of the Nasarawa State economic advisory council by the Executive Governor of Nassarawa State, Engr. A. A. Sule, in September 2019. Her expertise and insights contributed to the formulation of strategies to drive economic growth and development in the state.

On December 1, 2020, Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). This appointment was a testament to her capabilities and dedication to combating human trafficking, a critical issue in Nigeria and globally. Her tenure as the Director-General lasted for six months, during which she implemented various initiatives to address human trafficking and protect victims.

Personal Life

Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim hails from Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. Her father, S.K Danladi, was an Abuja-based engineer and developer, while her mother, Aishatu Sulaiman Danladi, worked as a teacher. Imaan is the second child in a family of eight children, and her upbringing instilled in her a strong sense of responsibility and a drive to make a positive impact in society.
