The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, addressed many issues affecting his state during a summit, including the controversies that arose following the flyover he constructed and the complaints from medical doctors claiming unpaid entitlements.
According to him, controversy has arisen among some governors over the construction of the flyovers he recently commissioned. He stated that he has done more work that needs to be praised rather than condemned, adding that he uses among the best construction firms in Nigeria.
Wike said;
“On the television, I heard one of the governors, to whom I will soon reply, say that in his state, to construct a 3-kilometer road will cost more than 15 flyovers, but I have turned the state capital around using a major construction firm like Julius Berger. So, if you know you have the capacity and what it takes, employ Julius Berger for your construction work and see if you can pay salaries. But now that you have touched me, anything you see, you take.”
