Lorliam Jennifer Awashima was kidnapped while on her way to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp in Kebbi State, and her kidnappers have allegedly threatened to marry her off or kill her if her family does not pay the ransom demanded.
This was exposed in a Facebook post by an unnamed journalist from Benue State.
A family relative of the victim posted a screenshot of this.
Jennifer’s kidnappers had requested a ransom of N3 million, according to the evidence.
The bandits have already made contact with the victim’s family, according to the message, and have threatened to kill or marry off the victim if their ransom demand of N3 million is not satisfied.
“The bandits called, they’re requesting (sic) 3million naira last,” Juliet stated in a message. They threatened to kill her or marry her off if we didn’t pay the money.”
Jennifer, a graduate of Benue State University’s Department of English, was abducted in Zamfara State on Tuesday evening, October 19.
She was on her way to Kebbi State, where she will serve in the country for the mandated one-year period.
