Governor Soludo Bans Touting, Onitsha Main Market, Provides Mean To Pay Taxes Direct To Govt

On Friday voices of traders and artisans were roaring loudly all over the streets of Main Market Onitsha, screaming loudly at the top of their voices, “NO MORE AGBERO” as His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo and his Deputy, Dr Onyekachukwu Ibezim visited Main Market, Onitsha.

The traders were hugely excited when Mr Governor announced that touts commonly known as Agberos will no longer harass them nor customers all in the name of illegal taxation. They sang song of praises to Mr Governor for coming to their aid and wished him success in his administration

Bans Agbero (Touts) in Anambra state. Promises to provide a digital window where taxes can be paid directly to the Government and not into pockets of individuals.

Governor Soludo also used the occasion to ban the nefarious activities of touts popularly called “Agberos” in the State and the indiscriminate collection of taxes by unauthorized revenue collectors

He emphasized that collection of taxes will be modified through digital means so that all taxes will henceforth be paid directly into the state government coffers
