He was born on June 11, 1970, in Aniocha, Delta State, Nigeria. After completing his secondary education, Odega attended Ambrose Ali University in Edo State, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.

Career

Francis Odega started his career in the entertainment industry as a stand-up comedian, performing alongside popular comedians such as Okey Bakassi, I Go Dye, and Basketmouth. He later transitioned to acting in Nollywood movies, where he showcased his hilarious character and American slangs.

Odega gained widespread recognition after a scene from the movie “Back From South Africa” went viral on the internet. In the scene, he comically speaks in an American accent and uses funny slangs like “gerrar here,” “yeah menh,” “shiit menh,” and “fuck u menh.” The video clip was shared by notable personalities like 50 Cent and Tinie Tempah on Instagram, further boosting Odega’s popularity.

He has acted in over 150 Nollywood movies, including “House of Gold,” “Baby Police,” “Osuofia in London,” “My Last Wedding,” and “Campus Cult.”

Francis Odega has been involved in a controversy regarding his personal life. It was reported that his wife and daughter were kicked out of their home, and his daughter’s school fees were left unpaid. According to Odega’s in-law, his sister had been with him for 15 years, supporting the family through her salon business. The in-law also alleged instances of domestic violence and inappropriate behavior by Odega.

In response, Odega shared a video on his Instagram page, presenting his side of the story. He claimed that he had given his wife a large sum of money to purchase a property, but she did not deliver.
