Three people are said to have been killed in Amawbia, Anambra State’s Awka South Local Government Area, on Sunday.
One of the victims was alleged to be among the security operatives of Chief Victor Oye, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The killings, according to a local source, could be linked to the cult conflict that has cost many lives in both the North and South Local Government Areas of Awka.
DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, a spokesman for the State Police Command, confirmed the event but said he couldn’t say how many people were killed.
He said there were shootings in Amawabia and that only two people were shot, adding that “I am not sure if they were death”.
