The Federal Government of Nigeria has taken a significant step toward advancing its technology sector with the announcement of the inaugural group of successful candidates for the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) program. Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Bosun Tijani, disclosed the news on X, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering technical skills.

“We want to make sure that everyone who has applied for the #3MTT program can check if they are part of the first cohort,” stated Bosun Tijani on X. He directed applicants to visit 3MTT-LIST to find their names and learn about the next steps in their 3MTT learning journey.

The selected candidates for the first phase will undergo training in a diverse range of tech courses, including Software Development, UI/UX Design, Data Analysis & Visualization, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Data Science, Animation, AI/Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Cloud Computing, and Dev Ops.

According to Tijani, the 3MTT program is a crucial component of the Renewed Hope agenda, aiming to build Nigeria’s technical talent pool.

“The 3MTT program by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy is set to generate a pipeline of technical talent, creating 2 million digital jobs by 2025,” Tijani declared.

In a move to further support the initiative, Tijani announced a substantial funding injection of N1 billion, courtesy of IHS Telecom.

“This funding will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success and sustainability of the 3MTT program. We are grateful for the commitment shown by IHS Telecom,” remarked Tijani.
