FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Set To End ‘One-Chance’ Robbery In Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has declared an end to the era of ‘one-chance’ robbery in Abuja. This statement follows the FCT Administration’s plans to introduce new buses and taxis for public transportation in the capital city.

During a high-level meeting with estate developers in Abuja, Wike highlighted the positive impact of the upcoming public transportation system on curbing ‘one-chance’ operators. He assured residents that once the new buses and taxis hit the road, the issue of ‘one chance’ would become a thing of the past, enhancing the safety of commuters.

Wike urged residents to use the officially designated buses and taxis, emphasizing that these vehicles would operate on routes covering areas such as Maitama, Asokoro, and other parts of the city. He cautioned against boarding unauthorized vehicles and advised the public to take advantage of the newly introduced transportation alternatives.

Furthermore, the minister addressed concerns about the presence of commercial tricycle operators in Abuja. He stated that the administration would take measures to remove commercial tricycles from the city, citing security reasons. Wike expressed a commitment to prioritizing the safety of residents and businesses, emphasizing that this decision aimed to protect the city and its genuine businesses.
