Early Life And Education

Rogers Ofime’s journey began in Lagos, Nigeria. He completed his primary education at St. Paul’s Primary School in 1985 and continued to Iponri Grammar School for his secondary education, graduating in 1991. His passion for the arts led him to the Obafemi Awolowo University, where he earned certificates in drama (1994) and music (1996). He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Dramatic Arts in 2000 and a Master of Arts in Theatre Arts in 2004, both from Nigerian universities. In 2016, he added a Business Administration certificate from Canada to his academic accomplishments. Notably, he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Lagos State University.

Career

Ofime’s career in the world of entertainment took off in 2001 when he started producing movies, television series, and commercials in Lagos, Nigeria. In 2005, he joined South Africa-based Film Company, Sky Sweeper Films, where he produced his first set of television commercial projects that achieved significant success.

In 2007, he received a significant opportunity from the South African media company, M-net, to produce the daily soap opera “Tinsel” on the M-net/Africa Magic platform. This marked a turning point in his career as “Tinsel” became one of the most-watched television series in Africa. Ofime’s role in “Tinsel” made him the first Nigerian producer to create a multi-camera, studio-based daily television soap opera in West, North, and East Africa.

In 2013, Ofime was entrusted by M-net to lead a team of 120 filmmakers to produce a series of tele-films, resulting in the successful Africa Magic Original Films (AMOF) project.

Notably, Ofime relocated to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, where he founded his own production company, Theatron Media Incorporated. Here, he collaborated with renowned film producers and directors, contributing to his already impressive portfolio. He is the Executive Producer at Native Media TV, responsible for producing series like “Zone 222” and “Till You Are 16” for Africa Magic TV. In 2020, he produced the movie “Voiceless,” shedding light on the challenges faced by individuals living in northern Nigeria.
